To a wonderful Nurse...my daughter!

While is was still abed after my surgery I received a card from my cyber friend, Pat Frank, who is a part of the Magnolia-licious Yahoo group. I have left that card sitting by my computer and when my daughter came for a weekend to help me deal with the mess in my house and my hubby who was just home from the hospital, she spotted that card and asked me to make her one.

I wrote my friend and she stamped off several images for me to color. So I got busy, and decided to make this one using the digi paper I purchased from Gina K Designs.

Here is my card...

Using purple is difficult for me - it's a long story - but I really like the color combination of this particular piece and I love the fun repeating shapes. I pulled out the colors from the dp to used for my image.

Here is my card recipe...

DP - Digital from Gina K Designs
All matting - SU LLavenar Lace
Copics used - E00,000,0000,25, 27, 30, 31, 33, 34, 51, 55
Y0000, 23, 35
G0000, 20, 21
V0000
R00, 01, 22, 27
B01
W00, 1, 3
Distress Ink - Scattered Straw
Nestabilities Die
Silk Ribbon - stash
Charm - stash
Butterflies - SU die
Flowers - Wild Orchid Crafts
Leaf Punch - Martha Stewart
Pearls - stash
Sentiment - computer generated
Made from the Heart on back of card - The Cutting Cafe
Distress Ink - Scattered Straw

Here's a close-up of the image...

As you know, I love to put flower bouquets on my cards. Somehow they just don't seem properly finished without them. To balance the deep purple ribbon and spoon charm, I added this fun soft little bouquet with a few butterflies fluttering around

On the inside I just finished the bottom portion of the card. I repeated the shape as used on the front of the card, using my distress ink to finish it off and then sewed with my machine. The three butterflies are my only adornment inside.

I ordered several digital sheets from The Cutting Cafe so that I could add a signature piece to the backs of my cards. The little heart on the ribbon is a separate stamp. I love to put it in the center of all my signautre circles. It's a peg stamp by Judith! It's so "me".

Thanks for coming over for a visit to see my latest creation. This card will now be mailed to my sweet daughter - we are so very close!

Hugs,
Barb
