Magnolia-licious Blog Hop - Wedding

Good morning dear blogging friends! Welcome back to my blog. So glad that you found the time to visit today and I hope you'll enjoy what you find.

It's the third Monday of the month and that means it's Blog Hop time at Magnolia-licious Highlites! Our theme this month is wedding!!! June is wedding month pretty much everywhere so to honor that, we're asking you to hop on board with a beautiful wedding creation of your own.

Since this is a blog hop, you need to follow the order, 'cause you don't want to miss even one spectacular project that the DT have put together for you.

So if you've arrived here from Janiel's blog, your right on target.
However if you're starting the hop at my blog, you'll want to head back to the beginning.
The order of the hop is listed on the Magnolia-licious Highlites Challenge Blog. From here you're going to click the link to Patti Jo's blog so you can get even more inspiration!

Okay, now that business is taken care of, here is my project...

I have made (another) candle for my project and I'm lovin' how it turned out. This is my second attempt at stamping on candles - it's such a cool technique!

Here I have used #168 Loving Bridal couple from the Wedding Collection 2010 (available only in the mini size) and paired it with #660 Wedding Background from the same collection.

Here is a closer look at the couple...

On the back of the candle I added #3040 Flower Girl with Petals and a sentiment from SU. Unfortunately the Flower Girl is available in Mini size only.

Here is a closer view of Flower Girl Tilda...

To add some finishing touches I added some pearl lace to the top of the candle and plain pearls to the bottom.
I also gathered some tulle, made a Rosette and glued the layers together. I added some scattered pearls to the tulle. This was so much fun to make, I think I could quite easily get hooked on this.

So there you have it! Please don't forget to hop on over to Patti Jo's blog to continue your journey.

Blessings and huggers,

Barb

Magnolia-licious Highlites June Challenge

Hi everyone!

I'm back again with another card, this time for the Magnolia-licious Highlites Challenge Blog.
I'm sooooo late in posting this card. It was due on the 1st. and here it is the 4th already!!! Wow! Time is flying!

Our challenge this month is "Water, Water Everywhere". We've all come up with such diverse cards on this challenge. Hope you'll drop by the Challenge Blog and check it out AND get creative yourself and show us your project! Diana at Magnolia-licious Store has a free image for the one who wins the draw! So dive right in, the water is fine!!!

I chose to make a Swing Card (or a Flip Flop Card). I found the water dp at the bottom of my stack of blue papers and thought it would work out well. Here's what I came up with...

Card folded closed - #666 Sea Background...unfortunately, neither of the images I used are available anymore.

This is the card kind of propped open - a very difficult card to photograph I found!

Here is #315 Dangling Sea Tilda flipped to the front...

Here is a view of the back of the card laid flat. The Sea Background is actually the front of my card...

The sailing vessel charm is from my stash as are the pearls. The sentiments are computer generated. Both images are colored with Copic Markers. The flowers are from WOC and the gingham ribbon is SU long time retired.

Just a short post today as I have a lot on my plate right now. Many thanks for stopping by, your visit is always appreciated...

Blessings and hugs,

Barb

Let's Get Physical - Sports Day May Challenge

Hello blogging friends. I hope that the April Showers we had have created a bumper crop of May flowers!

It is certainly so for my area of the country. Last year we were in the most horrid drought and the hottest temperatures ever!

But, hey! Magnolia-licious Highlites has a super fun blog hop for you this month.
I've entitled my post "Let's Get Physical" and our theme for this month is sports.

Do you remember the fabulous collection that came out a while back called "Winner Takes All"?
We are challenging you to create a sports related project/card using images from that collection. It will be so much fun. So grab your markers, paper and stamps and let us see what you come up with!

And, since this is a Blog Hop, if you've hopped on over from the amazingly talented Sharon's Blog then your batting 1000! If you're starting here please return back to Home Plate at Magnolia-licious Highlites Blog and pick up the batting order at the beginning! You surely don't want to miss even one project that the DT have pulled together for you. From my blog you will hop on over to the delightful and uber talented Mindy's blog to see what she has done!

For my card I used #206 Baseball Tilda. She is currently available along with many many other totally awesome images from this collection If you know me at all you know that I'm a huge baseball fan - particularly the Texas Rangers! I have watched every game so far this season (and last) and plan to attend several in person over the summer and fall. So naturally I chose Baseball Tilda.

I will admit however, that I became brain dead at the beginning of the creating process and this card took me much longer to make than it should have. Sheesh!! So enough of my mindless preamble, let me show you my card...

Here is a close up of Tilda and I must say I really love coloring this little sweetie...

On the inside of my card I created a sentiment panel using a sentiment from Artistic Outpost.

My salutation panel leaves lots of room to write out a personal message...

Here is the entire card inside...

And last but not least, the artsy view...

My card Recipe is as follows:
Cardstock - Generic Cream, SU Cherry Cobbler, Cryogen White
DP - Cosmo Cricket - Silly Sam
Copics - Skin - E0000,000,00,11 Chalk for cheeksHair - E27, 23, 30Uniform - R39, 24, 22, C00, 01, 03, 05Bat - E34, 31, 30Shadow - B0000,000, 00
Hero Art Dots
Flowers - Wild Orchid Crafts
Cuttlebug Corner Die
Sentiment - Artistic Outpost

So there you have it my lovelies. I hope you'll join us in this challenge to be eligible to win a stamp of your choice from our very generous and wonderfully kind Diana! I can't wait to see what you come up with. Oh, and don't forget to hop on over to Mindy's blog!

Blessing and hugs
