Tilda on the Loose...

Hello my friends! I have just one more post for you before I go to CHA. I'm telling you, I'm so excited about going I can hardly contain my myself! This is just a quick post not much chit chat! I wanted to make one more Pyramid card decorating all three sides of it. I already had the card stock cut and scored so I hated to let it go to waste. I had this wonderful designer paper I was itching to use too...a gift from my sweet friend Paola in South Africa! I went looking for an image I thought would be showcased beautifully by the paper.

Christmas All Year Long kick off Blog Hop!

It's hard to believe that I'm making Christmas cards again. That's right!! Our Christmas All Year Long is in full swing today with our first cards for 2011. This is a great way to discipline yourself to getting at least 11 cards made for next Christmas. So let's get started...I colored this image quite a while ago and since it was an image that was sent to me I have no idea of this Edwin's name nor number. I've checked out Diana's shop and can't find him there. I think he is a older image. Since I colored him without having any dp chosen, I just colored what seemed appealing at the time. Then I had to scramble for some DP. I also used some red card stock that was just a tiny piece and didn't have any more to do the rest of my card with. Praises go to my friend Millie, who came to the rescue and brought me two sheets of Cherry Cobbler, which was a perfect match.

Just Magnolia and hAnglar Challenge...

Hi all, I'm back with another card. This morning I was reading Jacque Beddingfield's blog and saw that Just Magnolia and hAnglar challenge blog has a new challenge using a wonderful sketch.

So here is the sketch...



Some time ago I had the time to sit and color a number of images. I colored about 7 hAnglar images to have them ready to make into a card. I just happen to be in need of a card to send to a friend to brighten her day, so I selected one of the images that were colored and got busy making my card.

Happy Birthday Chickadee...

I'm back with a new card, which I've been working on for a couple of days. I have no idea who will receive this card, but I'm always in need of a special card for a birthday.

This card is quite a break away from the norm for me in that I've combined two images from completely different sources. On the front of my card is the sweet little digital image called "Bunches" by Mo Manning. On the inside I used #249 TILDA WITH GIFTS from Magnolia-licious. I didn't follow a sketch but designed my own, which took me hours of playing and fiddling to find something I liked.

So here is my card...



Since I was just playing with the coloring the other night, I didn't keep track of the Copic colors I used! Gasp! I was just coloring and I hadn't yet even decided what dp I would use. Gasp again! This is very out of the box for me. I can tell you which paper I used though. Little Yellow Bicycle "Baby Safari" and the stripped paper on the inside is from Doodlebug designs. The sentiment on the outside is from The Cutting Cafe and the sentiment on the inside is from Stampin' Up! I used the Martha Stewart Lacy Heart Punch and my shape is a new acquired Nellie Snellen die.

On the inside of the card I really broke out of my box. Not only did I made a smaller card but instead of using flowers, I made little presents as my embellishments. In fact my little card is made up to be a present and I used sweet #249 TILDA WITH GIFTS for my focal point on that card.

When you first open the card, this is what it looks like. I had to tilt the card back so that the inside card would stay closed...

A Pyramid or two...

Yesterday, Sunday January 16, Bob L. who belongs to the yahoo group posted a Pyramid card on his blog with the link to the directions! Thank you so much Bob for sharing your findings with us! You can find Bob's blog here...

As you know I love new stuff - who doesn't? Even though I was busy working on a card (which I'm not liking so well and will have to play around with it a bunch)I pushed it all aside and decided to try my hand at this new shape! It was so easy! And wouldn't you know, it works so well with the new Mini's from Magnolia-licious! Both of these images are available from Diana and work perfectly. I didn't stray away very much from just a basic card, but you could really get creative on these. Also, if you fold them in half they slide perfectly into an invitation sized envelope!

All the paper and card stock are from my stash so I have no earthly idea what they are called. I didn't keep track of my Copics either, but I'm trying out Zoe's coloring techniques. I have a long way to go but I'm going to keep working at it. You can see Zoe's fabulous work here...Make it Crafty

Many months ago, Angie Hunt thought about doing a calendar for Diana as a Christmas gift and presented the idea to the rest of the DT. We were very excited about doing this project and we each got to chose which month(s) we'd like to do. Since I have an October birthday, I decided to work on the October page. It was very top secret for several months, until Diana received the completed calendar.

I could kick myself around the block for not taking more pictures of my page. I only took one!! Just one!!! What was I thinking? Not only that, but I have absolutely no record of the Copics I used or the dp or anything!

Bouquets of wishes...

It has been months and months since I've done a Mo's Digital Pencil card. This little image is one of her latest called "Bunches". I think she is just so expressive and she was wonderful to color. This card is on it's way to a dear friend who just went through hip replacement surgery.

Go with all your heart....

While I was away in early December helping my daughter through a devastating life change, I took tons of images to color and my entire collection of Copics. I didn't take any Magnolia images, as I'm always working on those, but I did take a number of hAnglar/stAnglar images and some from Mo's Digital Pencil. These finished images are sitting on my desk just crying out to be completed, so today I pulled one out and decided to enter into the Friday Sketcher's challenge designed by the most talented Jacque Beddingfield.

I used some paper from my stash, I think one is from CTMH and the other is from my stash and I can't remember the name. My card stock is Bazzill white, Bravo Burgandy and Pirouette Pink from SU.



I ran the burgundy piece of dp from CTMH through my Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dot folder. I've used my Nestabilities Petite Large Oval and Scalloped Oval dies, off setting the light pink and the burgundy. The sentiment is a recent purchase from The Cutting Cafe called Everyday Greetings. For that I used my Petite Circle Die and Scalloped Circle Die. The ribbon, lace and heart are from my stash.

Not your traditional Valentine Card...

I hope you're not bored to tears with my stitching cards because I have one more for you. While my husband was back in the hospital for his third surgery, I had prepared some stitching patterns to work on. This is the first of the four I worked on during that time.

I love to use the variegated embroidery thread as the colors are so rich and the changing from color to color is so pretty. For this card I decided to use #3079 Tilda With Christmas Ribbon but of course I changed the theme. You can purchase this image from Diana at Magnolia-licious and she is in stock.

So here is my card. I have a lot of pictures for you so I'll just post them and then give you the recipe at the end of the post...









For the inside of my card I used a different Tilda. I thought as the front sentiment said "love you" that #340 Fairydust Tilda blowing kisses would be so cute!

Tag - you're it! AND a Never ending surprise!

I have been busy as a beaver over the last several days making more tags for CHA! It seemed like a quick project, but I've figured out that I take about 45 minutes to complete each tag. I guess I'm watching too much TV while I'm coloring...lol! I also spend a lot of time on the computer and skyping my friends. My tags use many of the latest Mini's from Diana and are available here.

So here are the 31 tags I made to add to Diana's collection...



I will not list here the number and names of each image used on these tags, nor can I even begin to list the copics I used (I had a huge pile of them all over my work table.) I can tell you that I edged the tags with a) Walnut Stain b)tattered rose distress ink c) weathered wood distress ink and in places that needed it, Star Dust Stickles.

Now for the SURPRISE...

My friend Millie came over last week and during our visit she showed me how to make a Never Ending Card. I have my proto-type tucked safely in a drawer so that I can remember how it goes. Actually it is SOOOOOO easy!! Probably the most difficult part of the whole thing is planning how to decorate it. For my card I started out with two pieces of card stock measuring 5" X 5".

I decided to make mine a Valentine's Day card. So I went scrounging for some paper and found this awesome paper from Magnolia. It even has hearts on it, though it was sold as a Christmas paper. Again, I can't list the copics I used, but I can give you the #'s and names of each Mini image.

So here we go! The front of the card...This is #129 Kissing Edwin Standing and #341 Tilda Blowing Hearts. The banner in the upper center is #636 Lace Banner from the Raising the Ceiling Collection 2010. The sentiment stamped on it is from SU.



When you fold each panel to the left and right you end up with this....



The planning on this panel didn't work out too well because you can see part of the images of the next layer. Oh well! For this panel I used #151 Rose Edwin and #411 Elegant Heart both from the Raising the Ceiling 2010 Collection. The sentiment in the heart was made by using my Positioning tool and a sentiment from Whipper Snapper March 2010 set.

Now flip this panel away from you horizontally and you get...



For these two images I used #320 Kissing Tilda and #126 Kissing Edwin Sitting.

Now open the panels vertically again and you end up with the final part of this fun and interactive card...



I used #362 Secretive Tilda for the upper portion. The bottom portion uses a digital sentiment from The Cutting Cafe.

All my images are stamped with Memento ink on Cryogen White card stock, cut with my Nestabilities Petite Ovals Dis, the edges are sponged with Tea Dye distress ink and mounted on a Petite Oval scalloped die. The final sentiment by The Cutting Cafe was cut with Large Circle die, Large Circle Scallop die and then backed with another size from a Large Circle die.
