Just for the pure joy of coloring...

Good day everyone! I hope you're enjoying your weekend and getting to play a little at your crafting table.

I'm off to a Master Smocking Class in just a wee while, but I have time to post a card I made using Saturated Canary image "Jules".

I really enjoy coloring these images and find them quite a challenge to get the hair just right. They are so cute, don't you think? This is one of the cards I've made to send to one of the several couples we met while cruising. Each one made the trip completely fabulous and I wanted to share some of my crafting with them. I went a little overboard on the stickles...oh well...

So here is the card front. I decided to make it look a little like and envelope.

Here is a closer look at the image. Please don't laugh at all the stickles I put on her petticoat, I'm rusty, remember?

Sometimes I wish I didn't feel completely anal about finishing the inside of my cards. Once I've designed the front I think I'm finished then the whole process starts over again on the inside! Decisions, decisions, decisions...

And last, but not least is the artsy-fartsy tipped on it's side view...

Just a short post...a busy day ahead of me...

Blessings and hugs...Barb

Another DP2 Challenge...I must be on a roll!

The song Monday, Monday by the Mama's and Papa's is going through my head...but wait!  It's Thursday!  I don't have a song for a Thursday.  Oh, well, I do have a card for you today, so forget the song and lets see the card.

I'm still trying to find my way around blogger. And GIMP too! During my many months of absence they changed everything on me.  Now I have to learn all over again.  SHEESH!!!

I'm sure you don't want to hear about that though.  A lot more interesting to view the card I have made don't you think?  So hear ya go...this is my entry for DP2 Challenge this week.  The theme is "Summer is Coming".  There are so may images Mo has available in her store, and I printed out several of them, but settled on "Kai in the Sand"  This image is Kai in the flowered hat.

The front of my card...

I used SU card stock and ribbon.
The dots are from Hero Arts, the paper is
from an unknown source, the sweet bucket charm is from my
stash and the little windmill I just purchased at
Michael's.

A close up of the sweet image... I love how Mo captures the sweetness of babies in her images...

Here is how I finished the side of my card.  Both of the sentiments (front and inside)  are from Create with TLC.  Paulette has a wonderful selection of digital sentiments for any possible occasion. I love them because they don't take up any space in my studio.

And as always, the artsy creative zany cockeyed view....

Well, that's it for today my friends. I hope you've enjoyed viewing my entry for the challenge.  I have a busy weekend ahead taking a Heirloom Sewing and Smocking class.

See you again soon...
Blessings and hugs

A Thank You Challenge

Hello my dears...here we are at almost the end of another week. I've accomplished quite a bit this week as far as card making goes. Perhaps the biggest reason is that I can't get to my "stuff" in my sewing room, as it has become hubby's closet while we await the completion of our bedroom and new bathroom. I think we're still a few weeks out from completion. No one ever said it would take 6 months before we could move back into our space. SIGH! Ah well, it will be worth it in the end and I certainly can't wait to see it come to an end.

So I've managed to get another card or two ready. My goal is to make an individual card for each couple that we shared dinner with every night for three weeks and for the sweet couples that insisted that they provide transportation and meals (and even a night over) when we arrived back to the good ole US of A. So all in all I will need 7 cards! Yikes! That's a big step for a gal who hasn't been able to make a card in too many months to count.

This week, I have joined in with Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge Blog again. The theme is "Thank You". Couldn't have been more timely. I have used the image "Alisa with Roses" for my card and some paper I found at the bottom of my paper stash. No tellin' where it came from or how long it's been in the heap! I liked the color combination well enough to decide to use it.

Here is the front of my card. If you are looking for details on my card, I have none. My markers were askew all over my table as were different dies and various embellies. I'm still working on honing my coloring skills. I added the little parrot charm for no good reason at all. The card just needed something! So here we have the card front...

I tucked a little Magnolia Heart Tag in behind my image panel. The sentiment is a portion of a SU set called "God's Blessings".

And finally, how I finished the inside...

Many thanks for following my progress as I jump back into my passion.

Please come back again next week to see the other card I've managed to assemble.

God's blessings and big hugs,
Barb
