Stamptacular Challenge #57 - Something for Mom
This week at Stamptacular we're celebrating Mother's Day. You've got all week to get something ready to give to your Mom, Grandma, Mother-in-law or that very special woman in your life whom you love like a mom! Stampingbella is our sponsor this week and they are giving a $25 gift certificate to the lucky winner. So grab your stamps and paper, ribbon, pearls, buttons and charms and get creatively busy making a card or project to celebrate Mother's Day.
I made this card more than a month ago for my Mother-in-law. She has had a very difficult year, battling food poisoning that nearly took her life. I really wanted to make her something very special to let her know just how much we love her.
I started to rummage through my file of images from Mo's Digital Pencil that I printed off ages ago and chose this delicious image of Mummu! At the time that I made this card I followed a sketch from Friday Sketchers Challenge, but I had to wait until now to post it. Boy I missed that challenge by a mile!
Here is my card...
I dug through my stash of paper and found this wonderful yellow/pink/green dp. I have no idea where I got it, there was nothing written on the bottom so I'm assuming I got it at Hobby Lobby. My image is printed on Cryogen white and I used my rectangle Nestability die and the out of the box technique around her hand and the edge of the skirt!. I matted all my panels with Rose Red (SU) cardstock.
Here is a closer look at Mummu, colored with Copic markers...
My flowers are all from Wild Orchid Crafts and the leaf punches are Martha Stewart. The were all sprayed with Glimmer Mist before adhearing them to the card. The pearl spray is from the Bridal Department at Hobby Lobby.
I used a piece of soft yellow silk ribbon and attached the charm - a gift from a dear friend - to the knot. The butterfly is also a Martha Stewart punch to which I attached some tiny self adhesive pearls.
On the inside I kept things pretty simple. Just some more panels of the dp and a bow of silk on the top.
Here are the Copic markers I used to color Mummu...
Thanks for stopping by to see my Mother's Day card...we would love to have you come and join in the fun at Stamptacular this week.
