Magnolia-licious™ B L O G H O P Time Theme" Summer Fun"

Hello friends and welcome to Magnolia-licious's™ third Blog Hop of 2015.
This one is a winner and you're going to see some awesome projects done by my DT buddies.

So here is how it works.  You need to start at the very beginning of the hop and you can find the order here at the Challenge Blog.  From beginning to end each of the DT are linked to the next in line so it's easy to follow along.  However...if you get lost or you are jumping in at my blog, please click on the link to take you directly to the Challenge Blog to start at the beginning.

So, you should have just hopped over from Katie's delightful blog to get here.  If you somehow missed her, just click on her name and it will take you directly to her blog.  From my blog, you will hop on over to Julie's awesome blog.  Just click on her name and you'll hop right there.

Here is how I interpreted our theme...

I call this "A group Hug" as I have three projects and will explain each one individually.

My first project was to make a new cheque book cover. Summer means travel and that involves spending and I needed a new cheque book cover soooo badly.  Here I've used #213 Summer Beach Tilda and used the Out of the Box technique to fit her on the front.  I also did some embroidery on each project.  I started out with just one 6 x 6 inch piece of designer paper, but I managed to used a piece of it on each image.

Here is a closer look at sweet Tilda.  I've used Copic Markers for my coloring with a dash of pink chalk for her cheeks.  I mixed and blended Y32 with BG10, 72 and 57 for her bathing suit and hair bow.

On the back of my cheque book I embroidered and pretty patter that reminded me of waves and sewed the pattern with a Bermuda colored variegated thread.
My second project was to add a Tilda to the front of my little metal note book with pen.  It's small and easy to through into your beach bag to make to do lists or exchange addresses with a new friend.  Here I've used #275 Tilda with Lace Jeans.  Can you see how I've used a small piece of that DP to paper piece her jeans?  There is no embroidery on this piece as I wanted to keep the surface completely flat.  I did finish the entire image piece with some Microglaze to protect it from finger prints and spills - like chocolate Ice Cream!

Here is a closer look at how I colored her.  These two pictures didn't turn out so well, she is really cuter in real life.
Summer is THE time to grill and have friends over and just kick back and relax.  I made this little gift bag to take as a hostess gift (with something inside of course).  Here I've used #244 Burger Tilda and #535 Tilda's Barbecue.  I stitched a little corner flare in colors to match the flames on the grill.  I also stamped off the burger in Tilda's hand and popped it up with a dimensional. I've used a scrap of my DP for Tilda's apron.
Here is a closer look at Miss Tilda and her tasty burger.  Hard to tell that the burger is 3-D.

Here is the flip side of the gift bag.  What is summer without ice cream????  This is PL14 Tilda with Dripping Ice Cream.  I used the same corner embroidery but used a soft colored embroidery thread that reminded me of ice cream.

A closer look.  I gave Tilda some chocolate ice cream and used some Glossy Essentials on the ice cream. I've used again, a scrap of that DP for Tilda's outfit.
Well my dears...we've come to the end of my portion of the hop.  From here you're going to Julie's blog to continue your hop.  Leaving a comment in each gal's comment section puts your name in for a special surprise gift from Diana at Magnolia-licious.

Thanks for hopping along with us.

Blessing and hugs,
Barb
