I have another card for you today. This week at Stamptacular Sunday Challenge we have a very fun challenge for you. In honor of National Ice Cream Day we want you to create a card or project using the colors of your favorite ice cream sundae.
Our sponsor is the wonderful "Some Odd Girl" digital shop and they are offering the winner of this weeks challenge 3 free digi images of their choice.
I have used their image of Sweet Kaylee. Isn't she just adorable? I love the eyes best of all. Here is my card and my explanation of my choice of ice cream...
While the colors I used on this card don't reflect a favorite sundae, I found this fabulous piece of beautiful glittery paper in my stash. I had just one piece, an "orphan" and it's from DCWV. I just thought it looked so "ice creamy" and decided to use it.
Here's my card recipe:
CS - Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink (SU) Gina K Pure Luxury
DP - DCWV
Copics:
Skin - E00, E000, E0000 and chalk for cheeks
Hair - E13, E17, E18, E19
Eyes - N7, YG11, YG03 Sakura White Gel pen
Skirt - RV11, RV23
Barettes_ RV23 and Spica Pink
Purse - YG11, YG03, Spica Melon
Blouse - B52, B02, B0000
Shoes - RV11, RV23, RV0000
Background - W00, W1, W3, YG0000, B0000, RV0000
Nestabilites Labels 11
Silk ribbon - stash
Ice Cream Cone Charm - Magnolia
Sentiment - SU
Pearls - from a friend
Stickles - Star Dust
Here's a closer look of Kaylee...
I had such fun doing the eyes, though at first I was very nervous about not getting them right. Then I remembered a challenge that was posted quite some time ago on Copic Creations Challenge Blog about coloring eyes, so I went back to that site, found a wonderful tutorial from I Like Markers and decided that I could do this.
The background behind Kaylee was done with Copic markers and a blender pen. I just dotted in each color and then went over it with my Blender to soften the edges. Easy peasy!
Here is a side view of the card. It show a little of the inside. I couldnt' do much with it because I had no more of the wonderful ice cream dp, but I repeated the colors of cardstock and cut out a notation are with the same nestie. I also added some Startdust Stickles to the edge of that to give it a bit of glitter.
I hope you'll come join our challenge and make a card or project representing your favorite ice cream sundae.
Sweet card, Barb...no pun intended!
