Happy Easter and my FIRST Stamptacular Design Team Project...
Happy Easter everyone! I love this time of year, I love Easter! New life is all around us, trees budding out and flowers blooming and I've been super busy doing some spring cleaning.
This is also my very first project as part of the awesome Design Team (DT) for Stamptacular Sunday Challenge Blog and it's challenge #53. I feel so honored to have been asked to join this group of wonderfully talented gals from all around the world.
This week we have two sponsors for the challenge. The first sponsor is Fresh Brewed and they are offering a $10 gift certificate.
Our second sponsor is Bee Crafty and they have offered 3 digi images of the winners choice.
So here's the Challenge: make something girly! Make a card or a project that is just for a girl. I went all out and made something that expressed all the girly-ness that's in me. I'm a very girly gal so I just went over the top with this project.
I bought a little round paper mache box at Michaels and went to town...here's my treasure box - completely just for a girl...
I first covered the box with some pretty dp that was pink and creme. Then I added the lace on the box and another kind of lace to the lid of the box. I decided to use Tilda on Elbows from Magnolia-icious, and I made a prop from some heavy acetate that I purchased over a year ago. First I cut a strip of it, used my Scor-Pal to score it in three places then glued it together into a triangle. My husband was the one who suggested that I cut away one section of the triangle so that I could continue my flowers all the way around the box and behind Tilda. Since my Acetate was such a heavy gauge it worked perfectly.
Here is a view of Tilda from the back and you can see the acetate strip that is holding her up...
I wanted to use a string of pearls around the rim of the box, and I had one, but when I pulled it out it was too short. So I pulled all the pearls off and glued every single one on individually plus added a few extras from my stash. For the floral arrangement I used Glimmer Mist on everything - leaves, butterflies and flowers and arranged them around Tilda, but didn't want to cover her up so I left a small space in front of her and added a small Butterfly. I added 5 butterflies, some are very tiny and are placed inside the flowers.
Here's a view of the top of the box...
Here are the copic markers I used in coloring Tilda...
Thank you so much for stopping by and visiting my blog. I hope you enjoyed reading about my project and that you will go over to Stampstacular Sunday Challenge Blog and make something girly to enter for a chance to win.
