Wishing you Everything Wonderful....and some exciting news!!!

Hello all my friends out there in blog land! I have the most exciting news to share with you.

GRIN, GRIN, GRIN!!!

I've been sitting on this secret since February and have nearly spilled the beans on more than one occasion!!! I have been asked to join the DT at Mo's Digital Pencil and I'm honored that they thought well enough of my work to consider me! Thank you so much Mo, Pat and Dorcus and a big waving hellooooo to my new DT sisters! So here we go with my first official card for the DT .

For my card today I've created a birthday card that is quite different for me in the fact that it's not my typical square card. I saw this idea on Julie Price's blog here and wanted to CASE it. Thanks Julie for your inspiration!

So here is what I came up with...

I took the above picture on a mirror because I really like the reflection of the card and the peek at the inside. But below is a view of the front of the card just on my drape.

And now for a closer look at this little Miss to see how I colored her...

The inside is finished with a computer generated sentiment and a small salutation panel.

Finally, here is an angled view just for the fun of it...

Card recipe:

DP - Magnolia
CS - SU Night of Navy and Mellow Moss
Image - Make a Wish by Mo's Digital Pencil
Flowers - Wild Orchid Crafts
Swirls - Magnolia Heart Swirl
Leaves - Marianne Leaf Die
Stardust Stickles
Pearls from Stash
Copic Markers
Distress Inks
Spellbinder Classic Circle Dies, Scalloped Die and Fancy Labels Dies

Thanks so much for letting me share my BIG news with you and for taking the time out of your busy lives to come and share your thoughts with me!

Thinking of you...Sympathy Card

I needed a card to send to a friend who just lost his brother. So, okay, this is a pretty feminine card for a guy, but I know his wife will appreciate the card. I had the image already colored, and since I needed the card TODAY, I thought I would generate an appropriate sentiment on the inside.

So, a short post, here is my card...

A close-up of how I colored this lovely image from Saturated Canary called Canary Love. I made the bird to be a dove.

A side view of the card with a peek to the inside...

Here is the sentiment I generated on the computer...

And the salutation panel...

Finally here is the artistic, skew-if look at the card...

The dp and cardstock is all from my stash, the flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, bow/twine on the inside is from my stash as is the charm. The image is colored with Copic markers and shaded with Distress Ink.

I have entered this card into the Saturated Canary Challenge for this two weeks.

Thanks for stopping by for a visit today...so much appreciated!

Blessings and hugs,
Barb

New LIttle Star...

Today I have a card to share with you that has a specific purpose! I just recently received my Prince and Princess collection images and couldn't wait to use them. They are just adorable! Diana Crick's niece, Sheila, and hubby Wayne just recently had their first baby! A darling little boy and someone else for Diana to spoil rotten! I just had to have the Baby Edwin image so I could send them a congratulation card. You can find this image and many more from this sweet collection here.

I haven't made a Tri Shutter Card for ages, so I decided to make this special baby card...

Here is the front of the card using #115 Baby Edwin and some papers from my stash...

A close up of Baby Edwin...

A view of the card opened up...

My computer generated sentiments...

I even used some stars for my signature on the back...

So thanks very much for stopping by for a look at my latest creation. I will be back next week with another new card (or two) and some exciting news.....I can't wait to share!

March Madness....and the Easter Bunny will soon be here!

Hellooooo Maggie lovers! March madness is just everywhere and here at Magnolia-licious Highlites we are having our own kind of March Madness. Can you believe that March is more than half way over. Just a few more days to the official first day of Spring.

Have you been enjoying our March Blog Hop? You surely don't want to miss even one entry by the DT for this one.As you know the theme of our HOP is "The Easter Bunny Will Soon Be Here". Create fun/cute packaging, bags and boxes for Easter eggs/treats.

If you've hopped on over here from Patti Jo's blog then your headed in the right direction. If not, please click this link to head back to Magnolia-licious Highlites blog for the right order. From here you're going to hop on over to the extremely talented Sharon's blog.

Let's get the show on the road.....here is my entry for the HOP. I decided to make a Tea Light Card box, but instead of putting tea lights in it, I've used some delicious Easter chocolate eggs. On the front of my card I've used #252 Tilda with Hanging Rabbit from the Butterfly Dreams Collection 2011. She is available right now in the standard size.

I've also used Magnolia papers throughout. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, pearls from my stash and the ribbon is retired SU. All my images are stamped and colored on Cryogen White, while my CS is SU and Bazzill.

Here is a closer look at Tilda and her wee bunny!

Inside my card on the left side is a pocket on which I've used two Mini Images...#647 Floral Background and #3031 Tilda as a Shepherd.

Here is a closer look at that small panel...

Behind that panel is a tag which is removable. I used a computer generated poem that I found on the Internet!

Here is the box I created, filled with yummy Butterfinger Chocolate Eggs. On the bottom of the box I have used #268 Little Bunny Tilda. Each of these Mini images are from the Hoppy Easter Collection of 2010. They are all available from Diana right now. I think I used eggs that were too large as they really dwarf Tilda. I left the top of my box open so that the recipient of the card can access the chocolates. I used a piece of Acetate behind the SB Die opening to hold the eggs in.

On the back of my card, for my signature, I used my most resent acquisition, "Stamp Tilda" . Isn't she just so adorable? Then I just hand wrote in that it's 100% original and signed my name. I love the way it turned out.

Well that's it for my portion of the Blog Hop. I hope you're enjoying your journey and getting all kinds of fabulous ideas for your Easter Treats. Don't forget, from here your hopping over to Sharon's blog to see her wonderful creation.

Hello blogging friends! With the kids on spring break this week, it's been a little hard to get any time in my studio. This card has taken me most of the week to create, but I'm finally done and want to share it with you.

This post will be very short and sweet...I'm trying to work on another project and have so little free time to get it done...

Tilda with Birdcage Thank you....

Wow! Where has this week gone. I have worked on a myriad of projects and been so busy with so much. My kitchen reno is almost at an end and I'm so happy with the way it has turned out!

Today I have a card to show you that I started several days ago. Since I've had to put it on the back burner to take care of several family things, it took longer than it should.

I have used #351 Tilda with a Birdcage which I purchased several years ago from Magnolia-licious. She is not available at the moment in the standard size but Diana has her in the Mini size! However if you want the best deals anywhere, and excellent service to go along with it, you must give Diana's store a try! You'll be one very happy customer!

I have also used the Vintage Tag die for my sentiments, a few feathers from my stash, flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, seam binding from my stash, baker's twine from my stash, SB Large Oval and Scalloped dies and a Creative Memory Oval cutter and my MB die called "Snowflake Corner". My dp is from "the girl's paperie" line called Vintage Whimsey, CS is SU Pool Party and Soft Suede. I totally lost tract of the Copics I used.

Here is the front of my creation:

Move'n'Grove Challenge...

Here we are at the first of March! Yikes!! Is March coming in like a Lion or a Lamb where you are? Here in Central Texas it's coming in as a Lamb with above normal temperatures and still very little rain!

Well, anyway, today is the Magnolia-licious Highlites Challenge. This one is sure to get you movin' and grovin'! We are asking you to make a card that moves! Like a pop-up card, a swing card, a shaker card! Whatever template you can find that will give you some movement on your card. This will be a super fun challenge and I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with.

I chose to make a Swing Card with a little difference. My little panel swings around, but it doesn't roll along like the others I've seen. I saw a similar card on this blog and got permission from the owner to take her idea. I just want to say that I get so much inspiration from all your blogs and I so appreciate that you share so willingly.

Would you like to see my card? I guess I've waffled along enough for now. Here is the card I made!

This is an Easel card. The actual base is round, but I used my Go Kreate Die XXL Square Frame Frilly#5 for the propped up part. I guess that's a technical term! My flowers are all from Wild Orchid Crafts, I added a couple of leaf punches, pearls from the stash and butterflies from a MS punch. I have also used a combination of Creative Memory Custom Cutting Circles and Spellbinder Circle and Scalloped Circle dies. Cardstock is SU Garden Green and Blush Blossom. The dp was a gift from my BFF Paola in South Africa. The Silk Ribbon is from my stash.

My image is a slightly older Tilda #285 Giggling Tilda. She was among some of the first images I ever ordered from Diana. I've checked the store and she is no longer available and they have given her # to Garden Tilda. So sorry! But, Diana's shop is filled to the brim with such a fabulous selection of Edwin's and Tilda's that you'll have no problem finding just the right one for your project.

Before I show you the mechanics of my card here are a few pictures of Tilda up close and personal and the card propped up on my pearl stopper.

Here is my card with the panel beginning to swing away to the side. It actually swings all the way around - well, until it is stopped by the flowers, but I only took one picture to give you the idea.
How I did this was to punch a hole in the flower panel a little to the side. Then I adhered two pennies together with a pop dot and then adhered my Tilda panel to the pennies with a pop dot. I very carefully slide the bottom penny into the hold so now my Tilda panel is suspended in the hole. She completely pivots around on the pennies.

Here is a side view of my card....the artistic view...

I only finished the bottom inside part of the card and used a Spellbinder Fancy Labels Two for my sentiment which is computer generated. More pearls and butterflies to complete the look!

Well there you have it friends. I hope you've enjoyed seeing what I've done for this challenge. Be sure to visit the Magnolia-licious Highlites Blog to see what the other DT have done and get lots of inspiration for your own creation. Be sure to link your project to the Mr. Linky so that you have an opportunity to win a generous prize from Diana.

Glad you stopped by for a visit, hope you were inspired and that you'll drop in again soon!
