Get Well for a little boy...

I made this card for a special little boy who is only 6 years old. Earlier last week he had a mass removed from his ear in a day surgery situation. The Doctor said that he was pretty confident that they got the whole thing, but as we all know, all tumors removed from our bodies are sent to the lab. The news was not good. The mass was cancerous and this young family is now facing visits to the Oncologist, Pediatric specialist and Ear Nose and Throat specialists. He his just slightly older than Jordan who will turn 6 at the end of next month. I have been in much prayer for this family, for strength, peace and hope! There is always hope!!!

So I got busy making a card for him - for just him. It was really hard to begin this card and much prayer went along with the making of it.

I have used an image from Sugar Nellie the Simply Adorable series called Nathan and I hope that it is appropriate for a young boy! These images are a dream to color as the shading is already done for you. I did add a few highlights to his shirt. I also wrote, or rather printed, a short message inside the card, and you will see that printing is not my strong suit.

So here is the Easel card I made for him...

For some reason I just had to make this card in green and it took a while to sort through my copious stack of DP to find just the right matches. The polka dot paper is from MME and the stripped paper is from SU - a very retired pattern. I used SU Garden Green card stock, some retired SU buttons I've had for years and the ribbon is also from SU - an old IN Color from years ago! I tied each button with some bakers twine from my stash and the shapes are from SB Labels 18. I stitched each panel on my sewing machine. The sentiments are from a) SU Curvy Verses and, b)the Get Well Soon is from an AmyR set which I got at All That Scraps.

So here are a few more views of my card...

Thank you so much for visiting my blog again. I always appreciate your wonderful comments.

Blessings and hugs,
Barb
