A happy hello to everyone. We are moving onto a new sketch for the month of March on the Magnolia-licious blog. This month the super talented Janiel has asked us to make a frame for a photo or card that you can insert a photo into using the following recipe...one Magnolia image; 1 trim or ribbon; flowers, pearls or bling to your hearts content.
I was so blessed the other day to grab a few minutes to myself and I headed over to Michaels to scope out their frames. I found this white leather frame with the stitched vines and leaves and I thought it would be perfect for this challenge.
While the girls have napped, I've managed to fit in some time for some crafting (but my kitchen floor is filthy!) I really love the new collection from Magnolia called 'Butterfly Dreams'. Okay, okay, I say that about every collection that comes out. Seems like they're releasing images so quickly back to back I barely have time to ink up all my images - this just might be considered bliss! :-)
So here is what I have done with my frame. I was going to put a picture of the children in the middle, and I can still do that, but I couldn't find one I liked that was square enough to fit. So I colored another Magnolia background. I can't find this one in Diana's shop and I don't have the number of it. Sorry!
Here is my frame using #252 Tilda with Hanging Rabbit...
Here is a closer view of Tilda with her Rabbit...so cute...
I made my own ribbon flower using some ribbon I purchased from Michaels Easter Collection. It has light wire on the edges so it held it's shape wonderfully. The leaves were made from MS punches.
Here is my recipe:
Picture frame - Michaels
Image - #252 Tilda with Hanging Rabbit
Copics -
Skin - E0000,000,00,02, R20 E11
Hair - C3,5,7,9
Bunny - E 40,41,42,43, Chalk
Dress - R00,01,02,12,22; Y000,00,32
Sun - Y000,00,32
Leaves - G24
Flowers - R00,02,12,22; Y17
Grass - G24,40,85,20; E35,30
Clouds - B000,0000
Butterflies - C7, R22, Y17, Stardust Stickles
Velvet Brads - a gift from Norma Lee
I hope you will have time to check out all the other stunning creations done by the Magnolia-liscious DT and that you'll consider joining us in the challenge!
Hugs,
Barb

Hi Barbara,
ReplyDeleteOh how cute your frame is!! Imagine finding it already stitched since you love hand stitching your cards!
Your Tilda and her rabbit are coloured beautifully. Isn't this Tilda so adorable?
Your embellishments are great!
Love that you also stamped and coloured a pretty background in place of the photo for now.

Hey barb - wonderful creativity as usual - the frame was perfect for this and I have to tell you .. this new image is my favorite without a doubt. So like a child to carry a little animal around by his neck and this poor little bunny looks like he is saying "I am so tired of this game!" Very nice project Barb. I think I will borrow (that's polite talk for steal) this ribbon idea - it looks like the most delicious lolly pop in the world. Nice project Barb -

It's so fresh and springlike ! Love it.
ReplyDeleteBarb,
ReplyDeleteYour frame is gorgeous. I love all the flowers and the gentleness of it. So special. I too like the new Tilda images, but I have so many older ones I have never inked that I feel guilty getting new ones. : ) Since we still have snow, I made a snow woman snow globe card! Not feeling spring like yet! Your card is beautifully done, in every aspect!
Love and blessings, Martha
Wow Barb, that frame really is beautiful. At first I thought you had decorated it and wanted to know where you got the design from. The whole thing is gorgeous!
