The best thing in life....

Hello blogging friends! Today I have a card to share for the Magnolia-licious Highlites April challenge. Our very talented Sharon has challenged us to use both Edwin and Tilda on our card/project. What a wonderful challenge Sharon!

BUT! Before we get to my card, please let me remind you of the Spring/Easter Extravaganza going on at Magnolia-licious Highlites. There are three categories from which you may chose to enter from and Diana is giving away some sensational and very generous prizes to the top three winners.

Well now, back to my card. I chose to use #334 Brother and Sister for my card.
I had done the stitching on this card quite some time ago, but had put off making a card with it because I couldn't seem to find an appropriate image. Then I pulled out this image and colored it to match the stitching. Still the card sat off to one side until this challenge was put out. Then I knew exactly how it had to be used.

Here is my card...

Here is a closer look at Edwin and Tilda...still experimenting with Zoe's wonderful method of coloring folds in clothing...definitely a work in progress!

How I finished the inside of my card...

These colors are gorgeous.

  4. Okay - I just had to revisit you!
I went back to really examine your card and laughed - why you might ask. Because you have used the color scheme that I have used in my home. And my home is my sacred place. Maybe I do have a little talent. Love your card Barb.

  11. I love the clean look of this, Barb. Edwin reminded me of DS when he was little. I always dressed him in Oshkosh B'Gosh overalls and he had a red pair! I think he finally stopped wearing them in first grade. It just reminded me of him. I love the stitching. I love the whole card. Thank you for showing the interior.

    XO,

  22. Barb,

I love the design of the stitching you did and it is a perfect frame for your Edwin and Tilda image. The flowers mirror the colors of their clothing perfectly, and you always create such wonderful "insides" to your cards. Great card!

  24. Oh Barb! I'm lovin;' this! Akthough...tell me how Tilda & Edwin here are brother and sister...and in Sharon's card Edwin's daydreaming of Tilda. I'm pretty sure my brothers have never daydreamed of me! Nor have I ever blown heart kisses to any of my stinky brothers!! LOL!! Seriously...your card is just heavenly!! I'm so thrilled to see your embroidery again! It's just stunning!!! I actually purchased some patterns...but haven't yet had time to even give it a try! hahaha! I'm keeping plenty busy at work...opened our Developmental Follow-Up Clinic...and it's taking off! I'm thrilled! Gotta get to bed. Someday I'll figure out how to make my workweek shorter than my weekend! hehehe! Hugs. Pat

  29. OMG, Barb, this is fabulous. How long did it take you to embroider this? Every time I see one of this type of cards of yours, you make me want to do one too. Maybe I should make a belated New Years resolution...I will do one of this card this year. Yikes...I have 9 months to create one...LOL.
All kidding aside, it's stunningly gorgeous. Beautifully decorate inside also. Love that shabby chic heart border.

    Hugs,
    Norma
