The New Year has finally arrived and I have made this Easel Drawer Card to celebrate!
I received the most wonderful Christmas gift from my online friend, Norma Lee, which was a beautiful Easel card on a box! She had stuffed the drawer with some gorgeous flowers and velvet brads. But most intriguing was that the bottom portion of the easel card swiveled open to reveal her hand written Christmas wishes. I am just in awe of Norma's fabulous work and you can check out her blog here.
I wanted to try my hand at this swivel type of card too, and here is what I came up with. I have used little wooden match boxes for my drawers and covered them with card stock. The drawer pulls are some SU brads I've had for years and the dp is from my stash. The card stock is Gina K. I used a Magnolia Mini #3073 Edwin and Tilda Dancing for my image. Diana has this image available in the shop right now. The sentiment is from SU while the heart under the swivel part is from JustRite Stamper. I have used Copic Markers to color my images and distress inks around all the edges.

Easel down, swivel open...
Here is the easel pushed back and the swivel open to show the heart...
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog on this first day of 2011.
Hugs,
Barb

ReplyDeleteBarb, this is just to gorgeous.. does not look like a card at all but more like cloth put together. You have done an outstanding job and something most of us would love to make and would love to try. Your colors are outstanding and compliment each other so well and your choice of Tilda's are perfect.. Guess we will all be off to see Norma Lee's site and see if we can make the little easel drawer card... hopefully we will all flood the site with them..
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful New Year Barb, a great trip to CHA, may your hubby have a successful surgery and may your year be happier and more successful than last year...
