I'm getting closer to moving...

My sweet wonderful husband has been working on getting my new 'studio' ready for quite a while. Well, since the children left in early February he has been transforming this former bedroom. There has been a lot of work and major planing of a new work area. He has done it all himself, with a little help from a neighbor. He has pulled up the carpet, repainted the walls, sanded and refinished the hardwood, put slatboard in my closet (the smallest of every closet in the entire house). He designed my desk and had it made and while I'm in my current studio typing up this post, he is installing my new work space. He's had a few glitches to deal with, but he's doing a wonderful job! I'm so so proud of him.

Here are a few pictures of what my current work area is like...

Yesterday I spent several hours putting up my new paper storage system and labelling each shelf. This is just so fabulous, and getting my paper off my wall shelving is going to save me so much space.

Here's a picture of what my wall shelving will look like with it's complete...

Here is the other corner of the room...

Here's a look at my new paper storage. I couldn't get the entire wall in one shot so here is the upper view followed by the lower view...

It doesn't look like I will be moving all my stuff in this weekend, but perhaps I'll get some things moved in.

Here is a vew of my new work space, he's obviously not finished putting it all together, but he's working so hard.

This is the area where my computer will be set up. The shelving above it will hold all kinds of stuff that I didn't have space on the shelves for before.

This is my actual work area. My sewing machine will fit onto the area to the left (against the left wall) of where I sit. This will be such a luxury to just be able to turn in my chair and work on my machine.

I hope to be able to take some pictures of the finished room by mid week, so stay tuned...

  6. WOW, Barb, I am sooo... jealous. Your craft room looks fabulous! What a sweetheart of a hubby. Now the trick is to keep it neat and tidy as it is now. With me, my room is in shables within a few hours after I've cleaned and neaten it...LOL.
