Wow! No updates lately....

Where are the days going? I feel like I just haven't got enough hours in the day to get everything done. Things I have given up on...my DH putting up the outside Christmas lights (not gonna happen this year); my Christmas baking (just had to let that one go, but my darling daughter has done Christmas baking, the traditional stuff for our family like Nanaimo Bars and Shortbreads); changing my living room from a day care type zone to an adult retreat, like it used to be; having a beautiful table all set with my best china and crystal (it may have to be paper plates and plastic cutlery); peace and quiet (yeah, right).

Okay, so I let myself off the hook a little this year, but it's not like I don't have a full plate already. I'm NOT roasting a turkey with all the trimmings. We're having lasagna (Stauffer's), salad from a bag, bread (not homemade) and my daughter's wonderful baked goods plus a couple of Mrs. Smith's frozen pies.

I haven't had much time lately to take pictures either. What is it about this time of year? The extra cleaning (or attempts) the endless trips to the store, the purchasing of gifts, the running the kids to the doctor (the girls have been a little puney). But I digress. My main purpose for this rambling post is to post some pictures of the kids I did manage to take.

It seems that the girls are spending a lot of time in theirj Jumperoos these days. They jump on one leg, both legs, side to side, up and down and just generally all over the place. They laugh and shout with glee while they do this too. Sometimes I just sit on the floor in front of them and laugh my head off (when we all know I just need to get the vacuuming done and the laundry started). This is Brielle infront of the hutch and Josslyn in front of our tree. Amazingly Jordan hasn't touched it except to take the tag off of one gift.
As a gag gift at my Bible Study group I received these Hillbilly teeth. Jordan didn't know quite what to make of them, but he looked pretty goofy in them. I had to take him to a full length mirror for him to get the full picture of what he looked like - then he wouldn't stop laughing at himself and posing. I took the pictures before he found out that he looked so funny.

  2. I am so happy that you have not been trying to do EVERYTHING!!! How wonderful of your daughter to help out. But what I really love is that you take time to sit with the girls and just enjoy them and each other!! That is soooo very good for the heart. That's how Christmas is meant to be. Happy Holidays & Happy New Year, Barb, Bill and crew!
