Birthday Wishes...

I have a very short post for you today!

I was asked to make a birthday card for my friends son, who is a grown man, married with no children but three beloved pets! She had really enjoyed a card I had made previously and given to her hubby on his birthday. So I got busy and started the card.

I was missing the Edwin With Lizard image and put out a call to Magnolia-licious DT for some help. Our wonderful leader, Suzanne Dean, came to my rescue. But the Edwin didn't look the same as Cool Edwin whom I had used for the front of the card. I got really ingenious as you will see in the photos below...

Here is the front of my card using #103 Cool Edwin.  He is only available in the Mini size now.  I also used
#501 Shabby Chic Fence (no longer available).  I cut both images and mounted them atop Magnolia paper from a long ago collection.  So everything on the front of the card is dimensional.  The Sentiment is from SU.

On the inside of the card I added a digital sentiment and used a Martha Stewart Punch around the page punch to add a little detail.
This part of the card was quite a challenge.  I wanted to use Cool Edwin  again, to continue the theme, but of course he had no Lizard.  So I masked Edwin, #402 Rufus the Dog (no longer available) and #430 Tilda's Cat.

Here is a closer look at the images.  You can see the Lizard around Cool Edwin's neck?  I cut the Lizard off the one image and just adhered him to Edwin.  Pretty cool, huh?

Needless to say, my friend was thrilled that I put that much work into it and got the three animals colored to a perfect match.  I hope HE will be pleased with his birthday card.

That's it for me today...I'll be back on Monday with a Dr. Monday project for you.

Hugs...
Barb
