DP2 Challenge - Use Kraft paper

This week's challenge at DP2 is to use Kraft paper on your card. I have a personal challenge. Both my daughter and my daughter-in-law have birthdays coming up and not long after that my granddaughter and then my husband. There are more, but these are immediate family.

So I decided to jump off the deep end and join the challenge and making my cards to fit! Pretty sharp, eh? The biggest challenge on this card was making the floweret from the Kraft paper. It's stiffer than regular card stock - well to me it was! So that part of the card took the longest to pull together. The rest of the card just grew around that and developed a life of it's own. Here is a picture of my card front....

I have used Mo's image  Two Tasha. My daughter has been stressed out about getting older so I thought this little temper tantrum kid fit the mood perfectly. Here is a close up of how I colored this little prima donna.

I had fun putting the inside together. I've used two sentiments that are from different companies. The first "Twinkle Twinkle" is from Create TLC and the other "cake" sentiment is from Printworks Collections. I'm loving both of the companies and the large selection they have to chose from. So here's how I finished the inside of my card...

And last, but by no means least, here is the artsy view of my card...

If you got this far in the post you might be interested in all the stuff I used to put it together:
Kraft Card stock - from stash
Magnolia DP
Flowers, pearls, head pins - stash
Punches - Martha Stewart
Copic Markers
Crimper
That's it for this week my friends. I hope you've enjoyed viewing my latest creation.
May God bless you this week with His wonderful and matchless grace.
Hugs, Barb

  1. The flowerette is beautiful! As is your card! She is going to love or hate (sometimes we don't like to see us as we are!) this card! LOL I think it is perfect! And my guess is that she will LOVE it. The nice thing is that you can ask for it back and use it for every birthday of hers that ends in a 0. !!
