Now, I just have to tell you what a blast I had with fellow DT teammy Suzanne Dean on Saturday night. She was here in town teaching a Copic Class and quite a few of the gals in her class all went out for dinner with her afterwards. I was honored that Suzanne invited me to join them. It was such fun! She is a crazy lady, as you all probably know by now, and she made the evening very memorable. I also met some gals from out of town and we really connected, so I'm looking forward to getting with them when the next chapter of my life begins to unfold - after the children go back to live with their parents.
So now onto my post...
Since my sweet friend, Pat Frank, steered me in the direction of Saturated Canary images by Krista Smith, I've become quite smitten with them. They are absolutely adorable and so much fun to color! They are digi images so you can size them to what ever best suits your needs. They don't take up any space in my crafting studio either! That I really like.
So I ordered a few new ones the other day, and after my DT card was finished I sat down to color one. This sweet image is called Murray and I had a blast coloring her with lots of different colors which were in my DP.
Don't you just love her? She is perfect for an Easter card or just a spring card, which is how I've used her here. Here is a closer look at how I colored her...
I was really stumped when it came to finishing the inside, as in the Basic Grey 6X6 paper stack, called Piccadilly, there were only two sheets of each pattern. Bummer, I really need three pieces so that I can coordinate the inside better. Oh, well, I finally got it together and this is the result. This is the upper inside panel...
Here is the salutation panel...
Here is my artistic look, a side view of the card...
Well, okay, I'm off to get some smocking done - I'm very far behind on my projects.
Thank you so much for taking the time from your busy schedule to visit my blog. Your comments are always very much appreciated.
Oh Barb, she is soooo adorable.. I absolutely love her, but my plate runs over with so many stamps right now of so many different ones that I don't dare start another group right now, but she is a cutie pie!!! and you did a great job coloring her and her layout is fabulous!! Great job Barb...

ReplyDeleteBarb you have done a beautiful job coloring Krista's image. I love everything she does! She is really hot now and a lot of people are using them. I used one of her images a good 5 months ago on one of my granddaughter's birthday cards. A really cute Indian and I put her on the inside flap of a paper bag card. The first person I ever saw use one of Krist'a images was Leah Ann that makes all the gorgeous easel cards. Oh to color the way you do --- you are most talented.
