Hello blogging buddies and Maggie lovers! Today is the beginning of June and at Magnolia-licious Highlites we have another challenge for you. This month's challenge is to make a card or a project using Mini Maggies only! Our very talented Janiel is the host of the challenge this month and we hope that you'll join in all the fun!
I needed some gifts for the kiddos to give to their teachers. Of course I have to give them something hand made, right?!! So I put on my thinking cap and got right down to business.
I have four projects to show you, so bear with me while I show you all the photos I took. I have to say that my jumping off point were the little ceramic watering cans. Aren't they the cutest? The girls gave me one each for Mother's Day. At Mother's Day Out they had made little paper flowers on sticks with their pictures in the center. Very cute, but I had to recycle them.
Here is the first one I did...
I filled each little watering can with chocolate cover sunflower seeds to hold the sticks in place and then covered the top with tulle. For this one I used #373 Honey Tilda and #174 Edwin wants a Hug. All of the Minis are available from Diana here at Magnolia-licious. I used Spellbinder dies for my circles and Marianne Designs leaves. All flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. Pearls are from my stash as is all the ribbon used throughout. On this particular project I doubles the yellow scalloped circles and put the stick in between so the back was finished.
A close up of my images...
Here is the second watering can. I made this one to be a birthday gift, but don't have any particular birthday in mind. I used #241 Dancing Party Tilda and #294 Tilda with a Balloon.
I just recently acquired some new Spellbinders dies. One of them is the Heart Circles die so I had to put it to use right away. Doesn't it make a beautiful circle. The smaller one holding the sentiment just embosses a small heart border, so it was perfect for what I needed. I decided to encircle the entire top rim of the watering can with flowers. On this one I popped the image up and put the stick between the image and the heart die. I love how this one turned out!
Here's a closer look at #294 Tilda with a Balloon...
This is #241 Dancing Party Tilda...
There are two wonderful ladies who teach at Mother's Day Out each week. I needed a gift for each of them. They are totally awesome in the 2 year old class. They have not just my twins but another set of twins to coral every Tuesday and Thursday. I had bought these bath salt balls at Michael's in the dollar bin several years ago. I'm so glad I bought so many of them because they have really come in handy.
Here is the first one...
I made a band to wrap around the center using some Magnolia bubbles paper I've had for a while. It was a perfect match! I used the Magnolia Vintage Tag die with #261 Tilda with Hawaii Flower for my image. The ribbon is from my stash and all flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. The butterflies are from my MS punch. The sentiment is from Cuddly Buddly. I used a combination of Copics and Distress Inks with this image.
Here is a closer view...
For my final gift I used cardstock and punch the edges with a MS punch. I used the Vintage tag again and two Mini images on this one, masking the two images. #505 Stone Pathway and #3005 Rubber Boots Tilda. The sentiment is from SU and the little charm is from my stash.
A closer look at sweet Tilda...
Whew, I hope you've made it through to the end! I do hope you're inspired with my projects and that you'll get out your Mini's (or order some from Diana) and make something to join in the fun this month!
Hugs,
Barb
