Happy Birthday Chickadee...



I'm back with a new card, which I've been working on for a couple of days. I have no idea who will receive this card, but I'm always in need of a special card for a birthday.

This card is quite a break away from the norm for me in that I've combined two images from completely different sources. On the front of my card is the sweet little digital image called "Bunches" by Mo Manning. On the inside I used #249 TILDA WITH GIFTS from Magnolia-licious. I didn't follow a sketch but designed my own, which took me hours of playing and fiddling to find something I liked.

So here is my card...



Since I was just playing with the coloring the other night, I didn't keep track of the Copic colors I used! Gasp! I was just coloring and I hadn't yet even decided what dp I would use. Gasp again! This is very out of the box for me. I can tell you which paper I used though. Little Yellow Bicycle "Baby Safari" and the stripped paper on the inside is from Doodlebug designs. The sentiment on the outside is from The Cutting Cafe and the sentiment on the inside is from Stampin' Up! I used the Martha Stewart Lacy Heart Punch and my shape is a new acquired Nellie Snellen die.

On the inside of the card I really broke out of my box. Not only did I made a smaller card but instead of using flowers, I made little presents as my embellishments. In fact my little card is made up to be a present and I used sweet #249 TILDA WITH GIFTS for my focal point on that card.

When you first open the card, this is what it looks like. I had to tilt the card back so that the inside card would stay closed...

    Oh how pretty is this!!!! I love all the yellow (smile) and the pretty colors!! And both images are just goregous and colored to perfection! I really love how you did the inside too with the fold out flap and the wrapped pressies! Such wonderful inspiration! I love it, Barb!

    Oh Barb, now this is beauty.. love little"Bunches" and you did such a fabulous job with the coloring of her and the flowers.. wow so many flowers and they are so perfect!! and the outside.. lovein it!! But then we go inside to the beautiful gifts and wow open up the biggest one and there she is the best Tilda gift so beautifully colored and designed and your sweet quote.. a stunning card..     This is gorgeous and even though you used different brands of stamps, it is all going together absolutely perfectly! I love the brown against the softer colors. Your work is always beautiful!

    Barb, Thank you for the coloring tips, how do you figure out where the light source is from, everyone has a different take on it. BTW I love the surprise inside of this card, so cute. Your card is very pretty and of course the coloring is perfect.

    Golly gee, this takes my breath away. Also makes me say I want to do that to...and I want that image too. Oooh, fabby fabby card. Yeah, Mo's little gal is just too adorable and awesomely coloured as usual--Tilda too, of course. Love it that you played peekaboo with Tilda--what a wonderful surprise. The black frames looks terrific.
