Happy Anniversary to "The Others"...

I am now 8 days post surgery and am finding my way back to getting some crafting done. I've been told that by the six week mark I should be back to full functioning and daily routine. Ahhhhhh! Just 5 weeks to go.

I had started to work on this card before I had my surgery and have limped along with it over the past few days. I need a card to send to my friends (who are also Bill and Barb and we have alwarys referred to as The Others) who are celebrating an anniversary next week. So I just had to make this one work.

I did several stiching patterns while I was really down and all I could do was sit, and this is just the first of 5 that I got done. I love the stitching so much and hope to incorproate more of it into my card making.

This one is just a little different from the other stitching cards I've done in that I have made a separate panel on my card. I've enhanced this panel with my latest Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page set but I don't remember the name of it.

Here is the front of my card. I really struggled with this one until I finally took away the designer paper and just left the front of the card plain. Tilda and Edwin are colored with copics and then cut out and popped up on a white oval which was embossed with my Swiss Dots Embossing Folder and matted onto some Cameo Coral cardstock.

A closer view of Edwin and Tilda as seen on the front - the inside is just the same...

Here is a side view of the card, showing just a glimpse of the fabulous designer paper I used on the inside...

On the inside of the card I used some dp from BoBunny called Kitchen Spice Nutmeg and the opposite side of the paper which is a polk-a-dot pattern. The sentiment is from Magnolia which was stamped onto a Spellbinders Fancy Labels, sponged with Distress Ink Dried Marigold ink. All my panels are stitched by machine.

Here is the notation panel on the inside. Nothing spectacular, but I did restamp the darling couple and added them to the bottom. I will write a personal note on the oval in the center.

Here is my card recipe:
Cardstock - Bazzill White, SU Cameo Coral
DP - BoBunny Kitchen Spice Nutmeg
Copics:
Skin - E00 E000 E0000 Cheeks-Chalk

  18. Barb, it is a beautiful card. This is the first I heard about your surgery - so I'm glad you are on the mend. I love, love this little couple - and I fight with the name "Brother and Sister"....never having a brother I can't say that a brother would hug a sister like that...lol I know my sisters and I fought like cats and dogs on many occasions. I think "Loving Couple" is a better name. As usual your card is perfect - love your colouring. Can I come rub your elbow....lol
