Oh Baby.....

A very close friend of mine, who happens to live in Canada, has a daughter who is expecting a baby in November. They don't know the sex of the child yet, so I need to make a card for either sex. This is my first one, and I decided to make it a girl card. The boy card will follow sometime....lol

I had begun an Easel card the other day but made it just a little smaller than what I needed, and so rather than let this pretty paper and cardstock go to waste, I decided that it would make an excellent baby card.

The Pink Scalloped frame was sent to me in a birthday card along with some other really cool stuff by Kathy Gerace! Thanks so much Kathy for blessing me in this way!

So here is my card...

And here is a side view...

Here is a close up view of Sleeping Baby Tingla...

I chose Sleeping Tingla #339 from the new Cozy Autumn Collection at Magnolia-licious. Isn't she just so adorable? I used my Oval Nesties for the shape and mounted her on the Scalloped Oval shape and added pearls all around. I then traced around the outside of that same die on black cardstock and cut it out to give me a background. I colored the baby with:
Skin - E00,000,0000; Cheeks - Chalk; Shirt - G0000, G20, G24; Bonnet and Pants - RV0000, 00, 11; Shadow W0, W1, W3; Wings - Stardust and Fruit Punch Stickles

On the bottom of the Easel Card I used a sentiment from a SU set called "Gods Blessings". I used the smaller size of the Scalloped Oval and then lightly dusted it over with pink chalk. The floral bouquet uses flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts. I used a Martha Stewart Branch punch for the leaves, sprayed everything with Pearl Glimmer Mist, tucked in a pin with some extra pearls on it and a tiny gingham bow (ribbon from SU) and then a piece of a pearl flourish from my stash.

I love to finish the backs of my cards too. I love to make it as cute as the front if possible. Here I've used one of my JustRite Stampers images from the Cute as a Button Collection. They are just perfect for adding your signature to the back of your card.

Well, thanks for taking the time to stop by today to see my latest creation. Your comments are always such an encouragement to me.

Hugs,
Barb
