Magnolia-licious October Blog Hop...

Happy Hop day everyone! Magnolia-licious Design Team are hosting another wonderful Blog Hop today and it's all centered around food! Now that's worth hopping for, don't you think? The challenge is to make a recipe card, or a project that has a recipe or food at it's theme. Now this should be easy, since we all love to eat!

If you began your hopping with the uber talented Janiel then you started out right! I'm next and from here you'll go over to the equally talented Mindy's blog to see her delectable project. I hope you'll enjoy this hop and get some great ideas for cards, recipe cards or projects for yourself.

So let's get on with it shall we. My post is a little long so I'll try to keep the words to a minimum. I have lots of pictures to show you.

My project actually started out quite a while ago with the stitching pattern. Then I had my friend Sandy send me an image of 60's Tilda as I felt she matched the stitching pattern quite well. Then I found out that our Blog Hop was going to be about food so I just sailed off from there.

Here is my card front...

You all know how much I love to use stitching on my cards when possible, so this was just a natural process for me. I will give my rather lengthy card recipe at the end of this post, so that I don't bore you to death with the details here.

Here is a closer view of 60's Tilda...

Okay, now that I had the front done I had no idea what I was going to do to make this into a recipe card. After all it's a regular card! But with some encouragement from my new Skype buddy, Paola, she convinced me that I would come up with the perfect idea. So here's what I did...I made an extra layer of dp mounted on green cardstock but only glued down three sides. Then I typed up a candy recipe to tuck in side of the pocket.

The recipe card has a little tab on it so that you can pull the recipe out when you want to make the fudge, and tuck it back in when you are not using it...

Here is what the inside of the card looks like opened up...

I used the Recipe Card #1411 from the Yummy for your Tummy Collection as a label for the pocket containing my recipe.

For the bottom panel I used Kitchen Tilda #386 from the same collection...

Here is a closer view of Kitchen Tilda...

Now I'm really getting a kick out of putting some finishing touches on the backs of my cards too. I have a personal stamp, some ditigal sentiments from The Cutting Cafe, and these adorable "In Stitches" from Just Rite Stamps. Here's how I finished off the back of my card...
