Best Wishes to my friend...

I made this card several months ago. I knew exactly what I wanted to do with this card when I chose the stitching pattern and the Tilda. I made this card in July to give my friend Sandy, in North Carolina, but her birthday wasn't until October, so I've waited and waited and waited until I could send it to her. Since she received it yesterday, I can now post it on my blog.

The stitching pattern is done with Metalic Embroidery thread, the pattern hand punched. I love this technique!

Here is my card I made just for her...

I made this an Easel card, just because they are so much fun to do. I'm sorry, I can't remember where I got the dp from, I just fell in love with it though. It worked so beautifully with this sweet Tilda. She is "Tilda with Flowing Hair" from the Hoppy Easter Collection 2010 and available at Magnolia-licious. I didn't stamp the full image and faded her out at the bottom on her dress.

Here is a close-up of Tilda...

I used two separate JustRite stamps to create the greeting on this card. I cut the circle out with my Nestability and then added a Scalloped Nestie behind it. I added a tiny pearl to each of the scallops as well as to each corner of the Tilda image panel. The silk ribbon is from my stash and the charm is one I had received many years ago when I worked for Weight Watcher's. I new someday I would find a good use for it! It's the real deal!

This is a side view of my card, so you can see how it sits up. I did write a personal note on the inside that gets folded under.

I love making these Easel Cards, they are easy and are so gorgeous sitting up on your table or desk or where ever it is you decide to place it.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today.

Hugs,
Barb

  30. Ooh ooh ooh. Barb, this is soo….stunning. Oh, I love everything about this card: the soft colour combo of green and pink—one of my faves, the adorable Tilda—I have her too but not sure I’ve used here in a card yet, your gorgeous colouring, your fantastic embroidery work—they just make your cards so unique and who doesn’t like an easel card. I bet your friend was tickled pink to receive your birthday card.
