I'm in just under the wire on this challenge. I thought it was for the month, but when I read the post again on Just Magnolia Challenge blog I saw that the deadline is 10:00 PM tonight. Boy, I tell ya! I've been working hard on this one. ACH!!! I just went to post this and it expired 3.5 hours ago. Waaaaaaaaaaaaa! Oh well, here's my Easter Basket none-the-less!
The challenge was to make an Easter Basket using the tutorial for a woven basket, or just any kind of container to put Easter candy into. I don't have the shredded paper or candy yet, but I got my basket made!
I found the basket quite a challenge in itself to make. Even with a pictoral and written tutorial, I just found it a little unwielding. I guess I'm just a slow learner...
My basket has two sides, each with a Magnolia Tilda image, and lots and lots of flowers. Thanks to my latest order from Wild Orchid Crafts, I have some very gorgeous Gardenia's, Cherry Blossoms, closed Rose Buds and pretty pink Peonies.
Here is one side of my basket. I used Wrapped Tilda from the Christmas 2009 collection.
I ran out of two items while making this basket. BG10 Copic Marker and the BG Velvet ribbon. ARGH! I hate when that happens. I'm waiting for my Copic order to arrive, but I managed to eak out just enough from my now very dry marker to finish my images.
Here's a closer view of Wrapped Tilda...
Here's a close up of the flowers...
All my flowers, leaf punches and butterflies are cover with Pearl Glimmer Mist and so is the paper I used to make the basket. It is from the Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses paper. I sponged the edges of each strip of paper with Vintage Photo Distress ink. Since I have just recently acquired the MS punch Lace Hearts, I just had to use it for all my trim. The White bows are made with ribbon from my stash on my Bow Easy.
Here's a view of the other side of my basket...
This Tilda is from the Raising the Ceiling Collection which is now on pre-order at Magnolia Licious Store. Since she is not currently listed I don't know her exact name.
Closer view...
The butterfly punches are MS and another punch I've had for a while. All pearls and pearl sprays are from my stash. The BG roses were colored using my ABS to match.
Here are all the Copics I used to color my images...
I'm sorry for such a long post and so many picutres. I just wanted to cover all angles.
Thanks for dropping in for a visit...

Hi Barb - gorgeous! Lovely coloring and basket design. I hate that when that happens to a marker... I've had to add a few drops of blender fluid to "make " it before! (worse than running out of gas in the car!) lol
