Copic Creations Challenge #19...

I finally have a new card to post. Actually I've been working on two different cards for two different challenges, but I got this one finished first. Over at the Copic Creations challenge blog they are having a challenge on coloring fur. I decided to give a try. Along with the DT samples - which are all fabulous - they also have some tutorials to help you along. The sponsor this week is "Squigglefly" a digital image company. They have some very awesome images available, so you need to check them out.

When I saw this image, called Snuggle Buddies, I just knew I had to have it.
You can find this, and other adorable animal images here.

Here is my card...

I colored my image first and then went hunting for some paper to go with it. A little backwards I know, but I already had an idea what I wanted to do. I found this scrap of paper in my stash and immediately decided that I had to use it. Unfortunately I didn't have quite enough to finish my card on the inside the way I usually do.

I also chose to leave off all the flowers and frills I normally adorn my cards with. It just didn't seem to fit this sweet image. BUT I did want to use my new Nestablilities Fancy Labels dies for the first time since I got them!! I found some pretty ribbon in my stash also, but it was just too flimsy by itself, so I layered a piece of SU 1/4" grosgrain - Mustard - now retired. I just added some small gold pearls to each side of the label and voila! I really like the way the card shaped up.

Here is a close up of my coloring...

So how to finish up the inside of my card...hmmmmm...that posed a bit of a problem for me, with only a small piece of the dp left over (and I had removed the bottom strip of the paper a long time ago and have no idea who made it). I decided to use the largest of the Fancy Label Dies to mount the remainder of my sentiment on and just pop it up on the upper portion of my card. I added small gold pearls to each side of that as well.

For the notation part of the card I stitched my remaining small piece of dp to more Hunter Green cardstock and then added a piece of white so I could write something personal. I sponged on a VERY small amount of Hunter Green Craft Ink (SU) to the edges, but it's barely visible.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog tonight...please come again!
